Volunteers Needed for Wood Stork Monitoring

We are looking for a special volunteer (or two) for a very challenging project:  monitoring wood stork nesting behavior and success this spring at Harris Neck NWR.  The project extends from mid-March through early August and requires two full days per week (one day a week after mid-May).  Participants must be able to climb a 60-foot vertical ladder leading to an observation tower and must have good eyesight (glasses OK).  Attention to detail is important in order to  record accurately the data generated. Science or fieldwork background would be helpful but is not required.  Each volunteer must be approved for the project by Fish & Wildlife management.  For more information, please contact Dot Bambach at dotbam@bellsouth.net or 912-598-3764.
