| THE GATOR HOLE
The new Visitor Center at Savannah National Wildlife Refuge is nearing completion. A grand opening is tentatively planned for January 2010. Once open to the public, the center will feature dramatic exhibits (paid for, in part, by Ogeechee Audubon!) and a book and nature store called "The Gator Hole". Volunteers will be needed to staff the store and the visitor information desk; volunteers must undergo a screening process and training before becoming active at the center. If you would like to volunteer and have not yet been contacted, please notify Dr. Wasil Khan at wasilkhan@southernallergy.net as soon as possible, as training may begin as early as September.
