Saturday 3/14/09 – Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge.  Meet at the I95/204 Rideshare

at 7:15am or at the refuge entrance at 8:00am.  Leader TBA.  Contact: Tim Miller 912.429.2700


Saturday 3/28/09 – Savannah Ogeechee Canal Museum.  Meet at the I95/204 Rideshare

at 7:45am.  We will be looking for lingering winter residents and spring migrants.  There 

is a $3.00 entrance fee for non-SOCM members.  Leader: Dot Bambach.  Contact Tim Miller 912.429.2700


Saturday 4/04/09 – Savannah National Wildlife Refuge.  Meet at the Laurel Hill Drive

entrance at 7:30am.  We will be looking for spring migrants and waterfowl.  Leader

Saturday 4/18/09 – Butterflies at the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge and the Tillman

Heritage Preserve in South Carolina.  Meet at the Laurel Hill Drive entrance of the Savannah

Refuge at 9:30am.  When we are through at SNWR we will travel to the Tillman Heritage

Preserve (about one hour away).  Butterflies will be our focus but we’ll look at what birds

we may stumble across too!  Leader: Dr. Dennis Forsythe.  Contact: Tim Miller: 912.429.2700.  Binoculars with close focus are a definite plus for butterflies!


Sunday 5/03/09 – Webb Wildlife Management Area.  Meet at the Laurel Hill Drive

entrance of the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge at 7:15am.  From there we will

carpool to the Webb WMA located about 45 minutes away. We will be looking for 

late spring migrants as well as specialties such as Bachman’s Sparrow, Red-cockaded

Woodpecker, Swallow-tailed Kite, Turkey and Bobwhite Quail.  Leader: TBA.
