CHANGE IN NEWSLETTER MAILING POLICY
As we mentioned in an earlier newsletter, the costs of printing and mailing our newsletters have been climbing. Historically, we have sent newsletters to several hundred people who are National Audubon members and live in the Savannah, Georgia region, regardless of whether they have taken the additional step of joining Ogeechee Audubon as local chapter members. Unfortunately, the economics of the effort will not permit us to continue this practice. Beginning in January 2012, only Ogeechee Audubon chapter members will be eligible to receive a mailed copy of the newsletter. Not sure if you’ve joined the chapter? Contact our Membership Chair, Reed Engle, at reedengle@att.net or 912-236-2790 to learn your status. If you are not yet a member, you may join by filling out the form on the back of this newsletter, or print the form on the website – you’ll find that our dues are very reasonable at $20 or less for the calendar year – and we would be happy to count you among the supporters of our chapter. In addition to covering the costs of publishing the newsletter, local chapter dues allow us to offer field trips, provide informative public education programs, and make grants to worthy organizations such as local bird rehabilitators. Those who choose not to join the chapter are still welcome to participate in all our events and may request that the newsletter be sent to them electronically by providing our Membership Chair (see above) with their e-mail address. Alternatively, each newsletter can be viewed on our website: www.savogeecheeaudubon.org.
Questions? Feel free to contact our President or Membership Chair. We hope to be able to welcome you as a chapter member.
